Had a couple inches of snow evening of 11 Dec through early morning of 12 Dec here in Clay County IL, maybe a bit more as it was melting quite a bit. It was heavy, wet snow that covered all the tree branches and looked pretty before it melted.
Just a trace of graupel and grainy snow in the morning today 13 Dec. Areas north of I-70 have gotten varying amounts up to 6 inches so far from this second clipper.
The big picture is very cold for the next 48 hours or more with single digit lows tonight and tomorrow night. It won't last long, though. The forecast calls for highs in the mid 50s by Wednesday.
